History
Canadian Hearts and Hands is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2003.
It is dedicated to enhancing the physical, intellectual, and spiritual well-being
of God's people around the world, through the long-term development and educational
plans implemented by its missionaries.
The organization was founded by Chahira Tadros, who has already responded
to God's call as a missionary in Egypt (on two separate occasions) and as a
youth leader for 12 years. Inspired by her faith to share and give through the
grace of God, and always believing that charity brings joy, she saw the need
for young people to give of themselves to others in Canada and around the world.
During World Youth Day 2002, Mrs. Tadros was involved in the preparations
for receiving over 1,500 youth from different countries. After W.Y.D through
the encouragement of the Holy Father to be "Salt of the Earth" and "Light of
the World", she approached some of the young people who attended the event and
invited them to respond to the call of self-giving and generosity. They
gathered together to begin missionary activities in order to help those waiting
for Hearts and Hands.
After spending some time exploring Africa and other parts of the world,
Mrs. Tadros decided to begin missionary work in Mexico. Since then, the
organization raised funds to lay the foundation for building a church, clinic and
youth educational centre in an extremely poor area in Mexico. As of August 2004,
this project was completed, and the organization is now expanding its
borders into other communities both within Toronto and around the world.
